Warner Bros – DC world record attempt: A global gathering for DC comics’ superheroes.
Warner Bros asked us to get involved in DC Comic’s global event to set a new Guinness World Record (GWR), by getting the highest number of DC Comic’s fans together, dressed up as their favourite superheroes. We were tasked with creating and delivering a total of four immersive experiences, to entertain DC Comics fans at 4 Toys R Us locations across the UK. We worked with Marvel’s digital and PR agencies to ensure all Guinness World Record rules and requirements were met, and we guided them on how best to create a successful consumer brand experience.
A super event, fit for heroes.
Our main challenge was how to create four separate experiences, for the same budget the other countries had for showcasing a single event. We also had to find the easiest way to manage all four simultaneous events in one go. We decided to create an event toolkit for each of the four ToysRUs stores, making it easier to manage all the events on the same day, and brief all of our experiential staff around the logistics and management of the synchronised events, in one go. We designed and created the entire perimeter and entrance event branding, along with a DC Comics photo wall backdrop, for superhero photo opportunities. A main stage and mobile event screen played Warner Brothers and DC Comics cartoons and a lively compere helped coordinate the event, while keeping everyone in the mood and entertained with competitions and giveaways for the best dressed kiddie superheroes. For in-store entertainment there were a range of superhero toys, props and PS4 gaming stations to keep customers engaged and a #hashtag station, encouraging everyone to share their DC Comics experience through social media.

Overall we designed, planned and created the entire experience and managed all of the logistics and co-ordination, to ensure a smooth day of events across all locations, keeping customers happy and engaged. We successfully helped Marvel set a new Guinness World Record for the most people dressed as DC Comics superheroes. We’re talking Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Batgirl, Supergirl, Aquaman, Cyborg, Robin, Green Arrow and many more. Super.
